Leasing & Exclusive Licensing
What is the difference between a Leasing and Exclusive License?
A Leasing License grants you limited rights to use and record over a beat for One (1) Commercial Use at a maximum of 2000 distributed units. An Exclusive License grants you the right to use and record over a beat for UNLIMITED Commercial uses on any medium with unlimited distributed units. A Leasing License can be sold to more that one person at the same time until exclusive rights have been sold to the beat. Exclusive Licenses are only sold to ONE USER and establishes the exclusive right to record and distribute projects containing the beat.
What are your Leasing License terms?
Upon purchasing a lease, you may distribute one commercial/profitable song up to 2000 units. This includes demos, mixtapes, street albums, performances, etc. If you distribute or profit off of more than 2000 units sold/downloaded/streamed, it is advised that you purchase an EXCLUSIVE LICENSE.
What rights do I have once I purchase an Exclusive License?
The EXCLUSIVE LICENSE grants you the right to use a beat for Unlimited Commercial Uses with No distribution or recording limits. Authorized Uses covered by this license are Indie or Major Albums, Mixtapes, Showcases, Live Performances, Music Video, Online Video, Digital Streaming or Downloads, Film & TV Projects and Advertising Projects. You are given the exclusive rights to mix, remix, alter the track in any way, shape or form. Credit must ALWAYS be given to BooKoo Beats. BooKoo Beats retains the copyright to the underlying Musical Composition, while you retain the copyright to your added lyrics and the resulting sound recording (SR). You are however strictly prohibited from reselling the beat to anyone else.
*** PLEASE NOTE: Buying an EXCLUSIVE License is NOT THE SAME as buying a FULL BUYOUT Contract. Under the Exclusive License, BooKoo Beats still retains basic producer/composer rights. After purchasing the exclusive rights, can I resell the track?
You are strictly prohibited from reselling the licensing rights or the beat itself. Our licensing agreements are structured to prohibit this type of resale and any unauthorized resale of licensing rights or beats will be viewed as a revocation of the licensing agreement… which makes it NULL & VOID. I have purchased a Leasing License, but someone else purchased an Exclusive License for the same beat. Can I still use the beat?
Yes. As long as your use of the beat stays within the terms of the LEASING LICENSE… you are OK and authorized to continue using the beat. Contact us if you have any other concerns.
I recently bought an Exclusive License for one of your beats. Will this beat still be available for leasing on your website?
No. Once an Exclusive License is purchased for a beat, it is no longer available for future leasing licenses and will be removed from our Website and/or SoundClick player. All leasing licenses that have been purchased up to that date will still be active… but you will be the ONLY person who has the EXCLUSIVE RIGHTS to Unlimited Commercial Uses and Unlimited Distributions of projects containing our beat(s). Purchasing /Pricing
What does a license purchase include?
Each license purchase includes a licensing agreement stating your Leasing or Exclusive licensing status and the appropriate beat files in MP3/WAV format. You will receive an email from BooKoo Beats which contains access to these files via attachment or electronic download-link (depending on file/session size). LEASE LICENSES include untagged Mp3/WAV files only. EXCLUSIVE and CUSTOM LICENSES include untagged Mp3/WAV Files and the Tracked-Out Beat Session WAV Files. For certain custom licenses, an actual signed production contract will also be required and sent.
How can I purchase a Lease License?
You can purchase a lease on our Website or SoundClick page using the PayPal Options listed on the page. Your debit/credit card is all you need to complete your purchase. We also accept Google checkout payments for Leasing Licenses. Contact Us for Google Checkout details.
How can I purchase an Exclusive License? How much are they?
Exclusive rights pricing ranges between $200- $600 depending on the particular beat. We also offer project pricing/bulk discounts for the purchase of multiple Exclusive Licenses for beats. Upon payment, you will receive an Exclusive Licensing agreement, one Untagged Mp3/WAV file and the Tracked-Out WAV files via email. You may also request to receive a physical data disk. (U.S. , Europe & Canada Only).
What methods of payment do you accept?
For Leasing Licenses, BKB accepts PayPal, Credit Card, Debit Card and Google Checkout. For Exclusive and Custom Licenses, we accept Western Union, Money Gram, Cash and Bank Transfers. Contact Us for additional payment details if needed.
Why don’t you accept PayPal, Google Checkout or other forms of online payment for Exclusive Licensing?
We do not accept online payments for Exclusive and Custom Licenses for security and stability reasons. Online merchants are currently unstable for sellers of non-shipped, digital goods and downloads. To insure the security and integrity of our licensing agreements and your beat delivery, we only accept money transfers (Western Union, Money Gram, Cash, Bank Transfers) for Exclusive and Custom licensing.

Can I purchase a Leasing License for a beat marked as “SOLD”?
No. Any beat which has “(SOLD)” in its name or shows an icon which indicates “SOLD” is no longer available for leasing and will be removed from the website in 4-6 weeks maximum.
Can you remove the beat i bought an Exclusive License for?
Yes. Upon request, we can immediately remove a beat which has recently been licensed exclusively. In most other cases, exclusively licensed beats are removed from the website and SoundClick player within 4-6 weeks of exclusive license purchase.
Delivery
I purchased my Leasing License. When will I receive the beats?
We deliver tracks via email as an attachment or a secure download link (depending on file/session size). This process takes approximately 24-48 hours to securely complete. If by chance you have not received your beat email within this allotted time, please be sure to contact us at or via the contact form… before taking any other action. We are always here working to make sure you receive your beats in a professional and timely manner.
Please be sure that you (1) Check your SPAM box, (2) Remove any unnecessary mail that may waste space and cause attachments to be rejected and… (3) Request a Download Link if an attachment via email is not working. Contact us if you have any additional questions.
Customs
Do you make Customized Beats?
Yes. Customized beats are available via our Custom Licensing agreement. All results of custom production services exclusively available to the specific customer and are not available for online preview or download on our website, SoundClick player or beat catalog.
How much do you charge for Custom beats and Custom Licensing?

Free / Promo Offers
What can I do with a “PROMO LICENSE” or “FREE DOWNLOAD” ?
The PROMO LICENSE grants you the right to use a FREE DOWNLOAD for Artist Demonstration, MySpace and Social Profile promotions and other non-commercial Online Promotional purposes only. You are strictly prohibited from using FREE DOWNLOADS on projects with commercial sales potential such as Albums, Mixtapes, Showcases, Live Performances, Radio Singles & Radio Rotation, Digital Singles & Paid Streams, Television Shows, Television Broadcast, and/or Film/DVD Soundtracks. If your intended use our beats generates revenue/money and/or is NOT promotional or non-profit, you are required within our agreeements to obtain a LEASE LICENSE, EXCLUSIVE LICENSE or CUSTOM LICENSE from BooKoo Beats / BooKoo Music (ASCAP).
There are NO FREE BEATS. All “FREE DOWNLOADS” are meant for demonstration and listening purposes only. All “FREE DOWNLOADS” remain the sole property of BooKoo Beats and are licensed for NON-COMMERCIAL USE ONLY. All online promotional projects and artist demos must show the Production Credit / Mp3 Tag: “Fresh Produce provided by BooKoo Beats.” All “FREE DOWNLOADS” and BEATS that are subject to the “PROMO LICENSE” will remain tagged with the BKB Vocal Credit/Tag.
Copyrights
Are your beats copyrighted and protected?
This website contains musical compositions and sound files which are copyrighted by the BooKoo Beats / BooKoo Music (ASCAP) and protected under Section 106 of the Copyright Act of 1976 and the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). If you intend to use ANY of BooKoo Beats’ musical compositions, you must legally obtain a production or publishing license from BooKoo Beats / BooKoo Music (ASCAP)
Are your beats original? Do they contain samples?
All of the beats posted on BooKooBeats.com the BooKoo Beats SoundClick Player are original and do not contain samples. Thus, they are fully copyright protected and ready to be legally licensed via Leasing, Exclusive, Custom or Promo Licensing agreements from BooKoo Music (ASCAP)

I have emailed you and I still haven’t gotten a response. When will i receive a response?
We are always here working to make sure you receive your beats and email responses in a professional and timely manner. Due to volume of email requests and messages we receive, it may be difficult to directly respond to within 24 hours. However….We CAN promise that we will contact as soon as possible to follow up with ALL of your concerns.
I sent you material for your feedback, and got no response. Why is there no response?
We are excited to have you working with us and we look forward to receiving all of your material and resulting work. Though we may not initially respond to all submissions, we do receive and file all of your submissions for review and we will contact you as soon as we can with feedback.
